29% of Google AI Overviews included a link inside the answer text in Chat Radar’s panel of 97 local businesses this week.
This is the first week of Chat Radar's Local AI Search Trends dataset, so all figures describe current levels with no prior week to compare against. Google AI Overviews appeared on 87% of local searches across Chat Radar's panel, with dental practices slightly higher at 89% and car dealerships at 84%, and Business Profiles made up 62% of sources across all three segments. Car dealerships stood out for visibility in AI answers: 64% had their own Business Profile cited and 78% were named in a ChatGPT answer, compared with just 21% and 20% respectively for dental practices in those same measures. Perplexity cited a business's own website in 63% of car dealership queries but only 26% for dental practices, while ChatGPT's own-website citation rates were lower across both segments at 40% and 10%. Among business websites in Chat Radar's panel, 31% of car dealership homepages refused the panel's crawler compared with 2% for dental practices, and llms.txt adoption ranged from 11% for car dealerships to 38% for dental practices.
